Painting

"My practice stems from a need to give form to what I cannot always express directly. Graphic design gave me the tools to build a visual language of my own. I work through abstraction, building relationships between forms that overlap, contain, interrupt, or enter into dialogue with one another. A form changes meaning depending on its position, scale, color, or what surrounds it, so composition becomes a way of constructing meaning. Through this language I try to unveil emotions, mental states, and connections that have no visible form. Materializing them lets me observe what was internal, intuitive, or hard to name, from another perspective. I am not trying to represent chaos, but to find the subtle order that can exist within it: to turn noise into relationships, rhythm, and form. The work is complete when that order stops belonging only to me and someone else recognizes something of their own in it."

Pali Agurto is a Chilean visual artist and graphic designer based in Santiago. She studied Graphic Design at Universidad Diego Portales and Art Direction at ELISAVA, Barcelona.

She works in abstraction, building relationships between geometric forms and saturated color. Since 2024 she has expanded her painting beyond acrylic, incorporating materials such as pumice stone paste, glitter, dry pastel, acrystal bead gel, creating surfaces that shift with the light and the viewer’s position.

In 2025 she took part in the group exhibition "Hecho X Mujeres" at CityLab with the work "Femesí", and in the Santiago Sur Contemporary Art Festival, organized by Fundación En Obra, where she exhibited "Fibra del pensamiento".

Alongside painting, she works with volume and murals.
