A radiant canopy of thick, textured yellow fills the upper half of the canvas, like sunlit blossom vibrating with light. Toward the center it fades into deep greens and then into a velvety midnight black. In that darkness, pink, magenta and violet forms glide like fish through still water, their bodies built from dense, sculptural paint. Fine pale threads and tiny flecks of light drift around them like silt or stars. The painting plays on contrast: brilliance and shadow, surface and depth, the bright and immediate against the quiet life moving beneath.
